At Milk & Froth, you’ll find ice cream elevated. Their philosophy leans into from-scratch production — no pre-made mixes — with flavor built around real ingredients like pecan butter, honeycomb, and roasted strawberry. Their menu includes both dairy and vegan options (coffee & cream, peppermint patty, etc.).
About
Milk & Froth is a Detroit-born ice cream brand that expanded to Ann Arbor in late 2023, taking over the old Prickly Pear space at 328 S. Main St., Ann Arbor, MI. The shop features a striking palette (think salsa tones), a diagonal counter layout, and plans for a back patio to open up in warmer months.
The team behind it — Deion Cao and Alexis Matteson — started with an ice cream truck, did production in Detroit’s Eastern Market, and now scale their output to multiple scoop shops. They use Michigan-sourced dairy (e.g. Guernsey Farms) and organic coconut cream for vegan batches, and build flavors from the ground up (instead of layering on pre-made bases).
The shop is compact and can get busy, especially in summer. Many visitors enjoy grabbing a cone and strolling downtown.
